Land Acknowledgement

Ramaytush Ohlone

The history of America is inherently entangled in the history of Colonization, and we recognize that this colonial exploitation was a driving force in the foundation of our industry. We recognize that we at Barebottle continue to benefit from these colonial forces, from many of the lands where our grain and our hops are grown, to the land that our brewery occupies directly.

Barebottle sits on the unceded ancestral homeland of the Ramaytush Ohlone (Rah-my-toosh O-lone-ee), who are the original inhabitants of the San Francisco Peninsula.

We wish to pay respects to the Ancestors and Elders of the Ramaytush Ohlone who were the original stewards of this land, as well as to those who are still here, who continue to seek to rematriate the land, to uphold their traditions, and to care for the Indigenous and marginalized communities within it.

We hope that our guests will take a moment to consider these continuing legacies and take action with us to support local indigenous organizations, which we will provide information for alongside a copy of this acknowledgement at the brewery.
